My father and I took a trip to Memphis to visit the Tinderbox. I bought two tins of tobacco without having known anything about them other than the description on the tin.
Villiger 1888 Mid-Day pipe tobacco was one of the tins. Says a blend of vanilla and exotic fruits. Double steamed black Cavendish, burly, oriental and light Virginia. I just finished my first bowl of this and i must say no disappointment's whatsoever at all. You know its almost not vanilla. If it is I would acquaint this to a very high end and not some sort of cheap flavoring. Best I can describe would be more along the lines of when you open a box of those Cordial Cherries everyone gets around christmas time. Although i cant quiet say its a cherry fruit i pick up on, it does however remind me of that particular smell. If you can imagine those chocolate covered cherries the way they smell when you first open the box and the scent is very SMOOTH but dominant. That would be the closest thing to describing my experience with this tin.
Didnt mean this as a review but more of just participating in the forums more and just saying i was glad i got this tin today and will be ordering more soon. Now i just hope the ERINMORE FLAKE is just as good lol.

I must say that in my limited experience, I havent encountered an "aromatic" blend that had Oriental tobacco in it. This intrigues me. This fact alone along with your review makes me want to try a tin of it, and I think I will order some when my next TAD attack rolls around. Thank you for the suggestion.
