I can't say I've had any STRAIGHT VA tobaccos, but if VaPers are included for what you're looking for, you can't go wrong with Escudo or Peter Stokkebye Bulls Eye Flake.

Straight Va's. There are a few that I love, and so many others that are interesting, and still more that are worthwhile exploring.

The best advice I could give is to go to TobaccoReviews.com and do an Advanced Search. To the extent that the search tool

would permit, I found over 30 brands that held above average ratings despite a lot of reviewers.
Most of the major players that I've sampled produce a pretty good straight Va.

Don't overlook the offerings from Hearth & Home and 4noggins.

ps. I see where you just recently started smoking a pipe. I feel obligated to tell you that straight Va.'s are a bit of an advanced taste.

You may get snake-bit. Watch it!

I was going to reccomend some of the ropes from SG and G&H but they aren't for the new pipe smoker. They requirecutting rubbing and drying. So, lets start with these.

Rattrays Marlin Flake .MCC Honeydew , PS Navy Flake .PS 701 these are the ones that have been repurchased the most . I would like to add it would be in the best practice to dedicate a pipe or pipes to Va or VaPer .

I spaced out on the PS Navy flake as well. I tend to smoke that quite often and buy it in the full box.

And, I just recieved a tin of Fribourg and Treyer Cut Virginia Plug in my never ending quest to find AVAILABLE Virginias. Haven't tried it yet, but I think I am going to like it if appearance and smell are any indication of what awaits me upon combustion.
