One of the tobacco sales I made ended up showing in Limbo. Then both I and the recipient contact USPS multiple times. Package showed up today. I am thinking they damaged the package badly and decided to just let it sit. Then, we started following up and they decided they better send it back. I'm not happy but to be realistic, I've shipped hundreds of packages with USPS and this is the first to be really screwed up.plumpud2.jpgplumpudding.jpgplumpudding2.jpg

I've had them do the same thing multiple times for various items, but never tobacco. I was told by a postal worker that I know personally that a lot of damaged packages just get set to the side. I've had boxes get delivered that were completely empty boxes that were damaged, items fell out or were removed, and the empty box get delivered that the postal service taped up with no item in the box. One time when I went to the post office to ask about it, they said that I couldn't get money back for shipping fees, because they technically delivered the package.

Surprised a) they didn’t bother taping over the hole it something, and b) that chunk o’baccy is still there!

It sucks, but glad it turned up. We can gripe and stamp our feet all we want, but I for one am amazed how many parcels (some vendors are better than others) go out and come in every day across this nation/world, the vast majority without incident.
Any lucky lottery winner that has been born and raised in a first world country should thank whatever they believe in for their good fortune, it could be so much worse!

That is to bad. Sorry for your loss. Now I am worried, I’ve got 2 tins of Fires on the Levee coming through the mail.

I've been lucky so far with the mail outside of them absolutely destroying a record I ordered once. Though the way things are going it looks like my package with Fires on the Levee will arrive before my Silver Jubilee.

I had an expensive box lost in USPS for 2 months before it shows up. Tracking said nothing…… when it magically arrived after I gave up on it, box was beaten to a pulp. The leaf inside survived.

Probably has a lot to do with your regional sorting and distribution center. My area has seen a maaaasive population increase since 2020 and our local POs simply can’t keep up
