Title edited for capitalization. Rule 9! -jpm
Does anyone else do this? I get better results sometimes, esp with virginias, by holding a match more or less right-side-up and tilting the bowl toward the flame from above instead of angling the match downward toward the bowl and pulling the flame down. i think the hottest part of the flame is above it when holding a match normally. this way risks burning the rim i think, and if held too long may burn but if applied right it seems to work well for a good char and ember
