I'm just moving this from the '1Q' thread to this one to make it slightly easier
Please post any information about Importing/Exporting tobacco from US/UK or any other Information that would be helpful in making this happen.
And if you would be interested in taking part please make a list of 'wants' that you would like to be included in the box pass.

My list of wants keeps changing all the time, seems there is a lot more choice in the US than the UK. But so far my wants would be:

And as above, a selection of the Boswell Tobaccos.
Not sure how strict the US are on tobacco being sent over though. Seems like all the UK online stores have a note saying that they can no longer ship to the US? Does anyone know why??
If there's not a problem then maybe we should setup a US > UK and UK > US ordering system

I think that anything over 200g would be taxed on the way into the UK and judging by the size of the boxpass box going round at the moment it would be considerably over that lol.

Maybe this is something we can do for the UK members of this site, i know there are a few of us but not sure how many?

I like the idea of an across-the-pond box pass; perhaps set up a paired buddy system of 1 US / 1 EU person to keep the box at 200g. I wouldn't mind the cost of this experiment at all.

I mail to the UK all the time. My experience is, if there is a box or large amount of tobacco, it get's taxed by the reciever. If you ship just a little and in an envelope, it rarely ever get's hassled with. Not worth their time. Have to make sure it's sealed and they can't smell it. Mark it Hobby supplies or tea guys.

Thanks strongirish. My order of 150g of tobacco from the US got through without tax ok and that was marked as tobacco on the customs label too.
I'm all for this though and will happily chip in for the postage. Any Us guys on here want to add a list of the UK only tobacco we could get for you?
I know that we can get Three Nuns and Dunhill stuff pretty easily here (not usre if Dunhill is still in high demand in the US?)
