US import tax?

So the Eltang I received recently came via the Danish Pipe Shop. I ordered my pipe, it came and I smoked it. Well today I get a letter from FedEx saying I owe them almost $25 for duties/tax/customs. I have been ordering things from abroad my entire adult life, not to mention bringing things back over the southern border several hundred times and have never paid an import tax or duty. Any input on this?

Right around $600 with conversion, just a surprise as I have never paid anything for any shipment of goods.

Unless I get a letter from the Government in the trash the bill would go.

I wouldn't pay it. Call them and tell them to file it under "R" for Rectum.

So what happens if you don't pay it and order another pipe that is shipped the same way? That would be my only concern unless they have a way to automatically charge you.
