Just got off the phone with the nice people at Kirsten. I had placed an order 2 weeks ago, not realizing that they were not in production. When I asked why the website was misleading, they said that they had held off updating their website until they went into production again, and all back orders were filled. Kind of confused logic, but we are talking about Seattle.
Good News - the materials came in this week, and they will be starting production by the end of next week.
Bad News - there is a waiting list that will need to be filled first (which I certainly understand)

Also, they no longer carry Mimosa tobacco.
Well . . . patience is a virtue.

Glad to hear it! They must have finally found a new manufacuterer who could produce parts at a reasonable price. However, I think they've been out of components for well over a year, might be more like two years. I can't imagine how many backorders and/or PO'd online customers they've had to this point.

Visited the Kirsten store (Seattle harbor) last summer and was less than impressed. In my humble opinion, Falcon pipes are a way better product anyway.

hfearly,

Bought an estate Falcon on ebay - it was plastic ! I've cleaned and steralized it, but in the hand, it just feels cheap. Are the newer or older ones metal?

plateau, I've never seen a plastic one. They are all-metal, with a screw-on bowl made of Bruyere wood.

I have several Falcon Standards and non of them are plastic. They are all fine smokers as well! I also have a first generation Kirsten and hope that they get everything worked out and back into production.
