I have brought this subject up before but got nowhere. Why the hell do I keep getting promotional spam from 4Noggins?

PipesMagazine once assured me that they never pass on member's personal details so please explain why I keep getting these messages. I have never done business with them and I have no intention of so doing.

If I in the UK keep getting them then surely other members are too.

I have e-mailed them to ask them to stop & remove my name from their mailing list but to no avail.

Regards,

Jay.

There's an automated unsubscribe feature at the bottom of such emails. You just click "unubscribe" and they stop coming.

Thanks Sas but I did that and yet still they come!

Regards,

Jay.

I really feel your pain on this one Jay! Not from 4noggins, but from other emails that I have unsubscribed from numerous times, and they just keep coming.

AMC Theater's "Stubs" program to name one. I've hit unsubscribed at least eight times over a year, and each time they say, "successfully unsubscribed", and then a month later here comes another email.

It's maddening!

Regarding 4noggins and PipesMagazine.com member's email addresses - we never have and never will sell these email addresses.

I don't know what the deal is here, but maybe some other site sold your email address. Also, there are email harvester programs that scan the internet looking for email addresses to sell to spammers. If you've ever published your email address, like in a post anywhere, it will get picked up and put on a list.

Lastly, any friends of yours that have your email address in their contact list that then happen to click a link that they shouldn't have, and then it downloads their entire contact list without them knowing.

If you use the Outlook app as in installed program, the best, and only good spam filter that I've found is SpamSieve.

Good luck.

Yes, agree. Can be maddening. Not as bad as phone calls from spammers, though.

There are dozens of ways how this might have happened with no "collusion" by any one here.

If you have a short email address, you could have been a victim of a phishing expedition, but then I'd expect you'd receive a lot of extraneous mail.

Sorry, old boy! Spam filter may be your answer or wait till someone from the company posts again.

Thanks guys for the tips and Kevin for the reassurance this forum doesn't pass on details.

I guess I'll just have to put up with it.....I've tried everything that has been suggested to me, so it would seem that they 'win' :(

Regards,

Jay.

Almost everyday I get an email from Dr. Amy Meyers offering me a solution to my leaky gut. I don't have a leaky gut. No matter what I try...they keep showing up.

I get so much junk mail these days, I decided to create a new email address because it just wasn’t worth the hassle. It’s a shame, I’ve had the same email address since 1997. It’s not too hard to make a new one and give it out to only the people you really want to have it.

This is strange, because I HAVE done business with them, and I don't get spam emails from them!

If you keep unsubscribing it will affect their open rates and numbers. Most of the email companies like emma or constant contact don't fool around with spammers.
