My father used to smoke pipes. He recently passed and I'm trying to find out a bit more about some of his pipes. Can't find any pics on Internet of any pipe

With this kind of bowl. Does anyone have any ideas of where it may have been made?
You can see a pic hopefully here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/55703042@N08/9465061558/lightbox

Sorry for your loss, KG.
Welcome to the boards. I have a bowl like that on a pipe, but not a pipe like that. That thing is awesome.
Are you just researching, or are you possibly going to liquidate?
One of the sponsored sites here is BriarBid.com, dedicated exclusively to Tobacciana.
Good luck in your quest.

Sorry for your loss kgbats. I was at the local pipe club meeting on Tues evening and a pipe nearly twin to that was being smoked by one of the elder members and I commented on how unique it was, he thanked me but with the background din I was not able to hear the maker or anything about the pipe. I wish I could add more but it is definitely a very handsome piece. Regards...

I am sorry for your loss, you should smoke a bowl in that beautiful pipe in his honor. Its surely a great looking piece and i hope it will be filled with found memories of your father.

You really need to post pictures of the pipes he has for us to identify them. You can't just show us a picture of a random pipe that looks kind of like it, unless it's the same exact brand.
+1 smokey, you really should try a pipe with some of his tobacco and see how you like it.

That is a pic of his pipe, anyway it is very cool. Are there any markings on it? Maybe banjo can do some research at the next pipe club.

kgbats, I'm sorry for your loss. Keep that pipe! Most unusual, and a lovely piece of design. A great

commemoration of your father.

My condolensces as well. It might be one of the Stanwell Harlekin pipes. We sell them as a set of 12 bowls and stem/shank combinations. You can see the assortment here: http://www.pipesandcigars.com/sthaset12pit.html

I think that the idea is variety, but we might consider breaking up a set or two.

I think you may be right, Russ. Certainly the closest I've seen yet. Thanks for your help.

I'd never come across Stanwell Harlequin pipes before. They're really interesting. Perfect for someone who

saw the problem in advance and wanted to buy a rotation a pipes and no more. These are attractive, unique,

well designed, and pretty striking. Twelve pipes would be too many for me at once, but for someone who

wanted to get the pipe purchasing out of the way at a most reasonable price and have some nice pipes to smoke,

this would be ideal.
