Hello all

I’m 100% new to pipes and looking to get started. I inherited these from my great grandfather. Any ideas about who the manufacturer may be?

The first is Willard and the second is a strait with “MTC” on the bowl shank and a few other characters on the band that are difficult to make out since it’s older.

Thanks!image.jpgimage.jpg

If you are wanting to finding info on the pipes you can try looking at pipedia.org and pipephil.eu. For the first one enter the url then when it comes select "Brands and Makers" in the left column. For the latter enter url and the screen comes up select "Logos and Markings".

The sites @kcghost suggested will tell you more info on the brands.

The band on the lower pipe is a generic electro-plated band (hence 'EP'). They were often used as repair bands but I suspect your pipe was fitted with it originally, as it looks like the stamping on the stummel has also indented the band a bit.
