Hello all!

I'm pretty new to pipe smoking and I don't fully understand the different types of tobacco out there. I know of three potential types... cavendish, virginia cut, and old english cut. Maybe that isn't correct at all haha. But if you all are willing it would be great to hear about some of the different types out there. If you could also briefly describe what is typical of that type of tobacco, and how it smokes differently than other, that would be great!
PS Does anyone know anything about the term "filler tobaccos"? From my understand it is tobacco that is often used to mix in with dryer blends?
Thanks, I hope everyone is having a great evening!

I often suggest that for the base line types of tobaccos; a description of the type, basic flavor profile, and nicotine contents you should do some quick/easy reading in Wikipedia. This is rudimentary information, but a good place to start.
Virginia (several types)

Latakia (Syrian or Cyprian)

Turkish/Oriental

Cavendish

Burley
That should jump start your quest for knowledge... that will, thankfully, never end.
