Two Presents Today

Nothing like Christmas in July. I had two nice presents today when I got home. One was the Peterson 307 and the other a four tin sampler of FM! Of course, I had to break the pipe in slowly by putting only about 1/3rd of my top(to date) favorite in it, Autumn Evening, and it smoked like a dream, albeit it sure went fast. Most pleased with the pipe and intend on trying the FM and then FMOTB afterwards as was recommended to see the difference and the added Perique in FMOTB.
I was a bit hesitant wondering if I would like the P-lip but, I can say unequivocally it is going to be a favorite.

Not my style of pipe, but it has some gorgeous grain on it. I haven't tried Frog Morton, but I don't think you will be disappointed with Frog Morton On The Bayou. I love that stuff. Frog Morton On The Town is good to, but I find it to be a very light smoke. I haven't tried Across The Pond yet, but I plan to eventually.

If its new it will benefit from a salt and alcohol treatment to remove any stain from the bowl! Just some advice from a Pete nut!

Salt and Alcohol? How much?

Fill the bowl with sea salt. Not table salt. And then carefully add alcohol till salt is moist. You can use liquor but it needs be 80 proof or better!

Yes, you did and if you need some FM I have some for you!! :worship: I did smoke it a bit this evening and wasn't disappointed in the P-lip at all. It will get another workout tomorrow.

I'm hoping tomorrow will be a brighter day. I tried two of them tonight, one in the meer and the other in the new Peterson and neither one made any difference...still tasted musky to me. Maybe a good dry out would help.

Thanks to all for the gracious comments. I smoked my favorite in it just moments ago and it was a little bit of heaven. I'll be drying out some more Autumn Evening for perchance yet another smoke tonight.That FM still ain't gettin' it.
