I am always on the lookout for va or vaper flakes to add to my rotation. I recently tried two blends that are now deemed worthy by me to make the grade. One is a flake that I used to smoke years ago and just plain forgot about it is Frobourg&Treyer Vintage. It is similar to one of my all time favorites Cut Virgina Plug also from F&T. It is a darker flake in color and in flavor. It is not as citrusy as the CP and has more of a molasses sweetness as compared to a honey sweetness. I like it very much for it's differences. It is a beautiful flake that comes ready to smoke, if anyone likes CP, I recommend trying this one.
The second one to make it is Wessex Gold Virginia Flake. It is a lighter flake in color very similar to Dunhill Flake. It is sweet, citrusy, and just plain tasty. It is a milder flake so it can be an all day for sure. It is very high quality leaf that comes in a square tin like so many of my favorites. It is ready to smoke out of the tin and if you like other Wessex flakes I think you would like this also.

I am also sensitive to red Virginias, but I find that not all of them burn me. It must be a combination of things like a flavoring that in combination with Red Virginia, make them not agree with my chemistry.

Thanks cigrmaster. Both sound good. I was thinking about the Wessex Gold myself.
Not to hijack the thread but since we are talking about F&T and red VA, does anyone like Blackjack?

roth, why do you think it has Red Virginia's? Here is the description from TR.
" Fribourg & Treyer

Blender: Planta

Tin Description: A specially aged Virginia cut plug. A natural, mid-brown slightly fermented Virginia. This Navy Cut gives a full smoke experience for all natural Virginia flake lovers"
If it does have any, it must be minuscule because this has absolutely no bite.
simenon, I tried it years ago but don't remember anything about it.
