Two bulldogs - Mountbatten & Charatan

I just love Charatan's sandblast. Here are two bulldog pipes from my collection, Charatan's Made 38DC and Mountbatten 800 (Charatan's special line, but not 2nd)

Have Charatan ever oil-cured pipes? Asking because Mountbatten feels very like oil-cured

I don't believe Charatan ever oil-cured their briar. That is just some good patina!

Both dogs look great. The Mountbatten pipes are real sleepers.

I like the bead line on these. It helps define the shape on a sandblast or rusticated finish. I have

three dogs -- a Johs straight, a Dr. Grabow Royalton, and a Stanwell 32. Nice, solid, compact shape.
