Finished cleaning up a Savinelli Sherwood Rock Briar 9004, and have given it five smokes so far, but this is my first pipe with a twin bore stem. The pipe's draft is wide open, which I like, but the dual bore in the mouth piece is amazing! With each sip I have smoke traveling into my cheek and the center of my mouth simultaneously instead of just a single flow. I may now hunt down this feature in future purchases. I am glad Tobacco Treasures gave me the opportunity to discover this feature. Thanks Faye!

Does the air passage become a 'Y' as it gets close to the end (when it is about to exit)? Is it difficult to use a pipe cleaner?

Very interesting about the twin bores...I don't think I've heard of that before. Congrats on your latest acquisition and discovery.

I just gotta say...you sure have managed to acquire a lot of pipes and pipe tobacco in the last couple of years for a guy who quit buying pipes and pipe tobacco a couple of years ago. nnnn

It does form a Y and passes standard cleaners effortlessly.

Ah, but I added the caveat of family birth year pipes, Bruce Weavers, and Savinelli yachtsman. Most of the tobacco recently purchased is going to Lady Embers' cellar.?

That cleaned up mighty well, a real beauty. When I bought my twin-bore (a Britannia) I thought it was kind of dubious as a feature, but as mentioned on an earlier thread, it is excellent. Both airways remain pipe cleaner clear to the bowl, and it gives the nice dispersion of smoke you describe. I don't see this twin-bore feature often, but it is one wrinkle that has some merit.

It's the meer that's supposed to darken, not your opinion.
My AKB and IMP just weren't impressive and weren't unique enough from briar to merit further exploration. They also never lost that chalky taste. I've also recently discovered with the skull that the less fastidious you are about cleaning a meer, the better they smoke and color.
