Well, last night I came home after eight hours of dumping milk into a drain. Got back around 11:30. About half an hour later, I realized I had forgotten my cell phone in my truck and unlocked it to get the phone. I then forgot to relock the truck...and some hooligans tossed it. They broke the center console's lid, and proceeded to move everything all about. They seem to have stolen my Kaywoodie Yacht (Zulu.) I haven't looked too carefully, still waiting for cops to get here, but they left behind five bucks in a change purse and some prescription glasses...presumably from a different burgled car from the area.

The yacht is my favorite pipe.

And I depend on that console for arm rest and storage, constantly. I am so irritated!

I feel your pain.
A few years back we had a Toyota Camry (most stolen car in the US) stolen from our drive way. It had my Maui Jim sunglasses a pipe that I had since high school, a 50 # bag of rice in the trunk! Lucky for us I was waiting for the low fuel light to come on before refueling. They did not get so far and just ditched the car near a park with the doors open and lights on. Funny thing was nothing was stolen. Even the expensive sunglasses! It cost us $300 to get the $500 car out of the tow yard. Arrrgg! I was on edge for a long time after that. Thinking hoodlums were lurking every where ready to steal my stuff!

collin that sucks. some people suck.

i had three cars get broken into over the years. the worst thing to me was the feeling of violated privacy.

I've been through it twice, but didnt lose anything valuable either time.

The first time they busted a window out, second time they slimjimmed it.

But I feel you on the armrest, assholes busted mine off last time too, still havent replaced. It just sort of floats around on top of the console now.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I've been there, done that, and have the Tee shirt.... only it was my apartment and not my car that was broken into.

It happens so often around here that the police just show, up, take a report and give you a case number. I've never had anything stolen from a car returned. They don't even check for prints here if the car gets stolen.

Sorry for your luck. Good reminder to me to stop leaving my pipe kit in the car when I stay in hotels (frequent work stays). I had my 50th birthday Ashton in there on my last trip. I sure would hate to lose that one.

Sorry to hear of your woes.

My first sales car was a 1989 Olds Omega, which I hated. I used to leave it running in parking lots hoping it'd be stolen. No such luck. It finally broke down and when the mechanic tried to start it the engine caught fire. I told him that I'd give him $50 to let the fire rage. That's how I got a 1990 Pontiac 6000.

I'm sorry to hear that, I'd be right pissed. I always hide everything when I leave my car. Hell, I hide my damn coffee.
