So, is there any difference between Hearth & Home's Trout Stream and HPCS Trout Stream?
I just tried the HPCS Trout Stream for the very first time, a gift from a pipe smoking friend, and while I am not keen on too many aros, that is one GREAT baccy there, my friends! I've def gotta get some more of that!
Especially nice on a cool, grey, overcast gloomy morning, first thing. No goop or gunk in the pipe, flavor consistent all the way through to the end of the bowl....
Smoked it in one of my fave pipes--Alpha Pedestal.
Wow. I'm a VaPers kinda gal, but I LOVED Trout Stream!
So, do I have to get it from P&C (where I spent a lot of money last month) or can I get it from 4nog (where I have a very large TAD order accumulating with baccys that P&C don't carry)??

I think HPCS is H&H. I believe it stands for Habanna Premium Cigar Shoppe which is the retail store.

Thanks. I suspected as much, but wasn't entirely sure. I'm thinking that they started out calling their blends HPCS blends, and when they saw how successful they were, began their own line of Hearth & Home. This is the first H&H blend I've REALLY really enjoyed.

Hi Whimsy, I think you are right. It's the same stuff.
Keep sharing your experiences with us. When I first started smoking the pipe I thought all pipe tobacco was pretty much the same. One of the great joys was learning and experimenting with the different types. There sure is a lot out there to try and it's great to see others go through the same process.

I think a floating fly is better than a sinker when fly fishing for trout!
and a clenched cob is better than a brier when my feet are wet.

At least it doesn't taste fishy!
I just got some Trout Stream from P&C and I love it! To me it smells like caramel. Good dessert smoke or early morning with coffee. I'm glad i got 4 oz, and I can see buying more!

Whimsyt: Is your Alpha one of the old Israeli made burners?
Cajundad: Did you know the author of your Signature line also wrote this?
“It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents — except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness.”

It's always good for a laugh.

Yup, sure is! I have three Alpha/Shalom vintage pipes from Israel.....Love them all, but the Pedastal is my fave of the bunch. Nice, thick walls. Nice sitter. Nice smoker.
