EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob

I have a box of pipes; as I'm sure many of you do. This box contains pipes that mostly came from garage sales, antique shops or someone's uncle's collection. My wife and son's give me these as do several friends who don't smoke, but know I do. To be honest I don't look in that box much. I have my favorites and I rotate through them; I'm happy with the team I have on the field. Today I had to go do some field prep so my son could put down a clover mix (think spring turkey season). I felt like taking a pipe and for some reason I reached for the box. I pulled out a Kaywoodie Standard 12B Bulldog (3 hole stinger intact). It's in near perfect condition, but I've never smoked it. I put it in my pocket with a pouch of my favorite old reliable "Packet" from John Dengler. I spent a lovely 30+ minutes with this pipe. It smoked cool, dry and had a very easy draw. This "treasure" might not have a lot of monetary value, but it's certainly made it into my rotation. I'm sorry it took so long to get acquainted with. I may need to pull a few more; who know's what I'm missing out on. I hope you all find a treasure or two for yourselves.

I've been the giver of a few pipes. Never been given to, but I enjoyed seeing someone appreciate the gift and share some good combustable times together. However, I do have a pile of pipes too big to fit in a box on my office floor about 5 feet out of reach, somewhat covered from dust settling onto them, that I plan to do something with. I guess it's a boxless treasure pile! Thinking like Smaug now =) I know there are some awesome metal pipes, Chris Morgan bones and a Blackjack he gave me in the pile, and 3-4 terrible one's too. This treasure horde has grown over the last couple years from direct purchase with a plan to collect/smoke the treasure, and a few of them were tag along's with the pipe I actually wanted in an auction. I've been meaning to clean up and arrange the office "soon" for about 50-70 weeks. I did begin arranging about 4 weeks ago and made a good dent in the office after clearing out about 40 cigar boxes and some electronics of yesteryear, but the treasure horde remains. I have recovered a little from PAD, and I am greatly looking forward to getting more intimately acquainted with each of these treasures, possibly today, if I don't decide I would rather be consumed with reading and kindling a nice blend while putting it off until next week =)
