So tonight was Clarkson University's first freshman physics exam. It has been a long standing tradition that engineering students who have already taken the test in previous years all rally around the entrance to the building where the test takes place, and "hazes" the freshmen. I'm not talking anything serious, they usually crowd around the walkway as the freshmen are coming in and pass out course drop/ change of major forms, play taps, and even hand out condoms saying "you're gonna need this when you get raped by this exam". It's always been in good fun, but this year it was not allowed on the grounds that hazing is not appropriate.
Some see this as tradition, as a right of passage

others see it as trouble, and compare it to legit hazing.
anyone else have a favorite activity banned in this touchy new age world?

I was unfortunate enough to see the bannishment of dodgeball when i was in elementary school. by the time i made it to high school, elementary school kids weren't even allowed to play tag. and what ever happened to "pick up and slaughter"?

Any time now there will be something against everything.
Spacecowboy---too much worry over liability these days. If Little Johnny gets hurt playing dodgeball, the parents'll sue the crap out of the school district for not being proactive enough about safety. A sad state of affairs that we find ourselves in. I believe we are through the Looking Glass.
