Yes I am about that topping life, but thats not why I'm writing. SG Spring Time Flake, I opened a tin in the Spring. Been smoking from it here and there. Tonight I ahd to open a fresh tin because my jarred almost tasted like another tobacco. I suspect the topping went away? Is that normal in a few months?

Was there a lot of airspace in the jar? What type of jar did you use?

Blends vary widely. I have a small jar of 1Q that is years old and has loads of air space. I rarely smoke it. I keep it as a relic, like the Hostess Twinkee nailed to the bar room wall. The 1Q is as moist as ever, and as redolent of its flavoring as ever. Perhaps this sample was found in the tomb of an Egyptian Pharaoh.
