Forum member pipesmokingtom voiced interest in a pipe I got from eBay in a set of estate Savinellis I got, so after cleaning the Capri 904 from the lot, I set to work on restoring it for him. It had a fairly thick cake, and a bit of oxidation on the stem, but a little elbow grease can cure those ills. Just finished hitting it with a coat of Paragon Wax, and it will be on its way to him tomorrow!

I spent more time on this one than I do on my own estate pipes, and the results were very satisfying. You're getting a great pipe Tom.

One of the hardest things was a spotting around the rim that looked like alcohol damage to the finish. There was some stubborn oxidation just in front of the button, and it had a rock hard, thick cake in the bowl. A lot of fun cleaning this one up. I have one left out of the lot to clean, but restorations are starting to be a big hobby for me. Need to up my tool collection to aid my growing interest!
