Some times i smoke tobaccos that are supposed to vanilla flavored but i generally just taste tobacco. Not always a bad thing but i was just wondering if youve ever had a tobacco thats taste was uncanny to how it was described? thanks in advance.
P.S. Any good chocolate flavored tobaccos?

Well, taste is a very subjective thing, one person might say this blend tastes like vanilla, and someone else will say something different. FWIW, if vanilla is a flavor you want, you might want to try Captain Black in the white pouch, to me, and most folks I know that have tried it, vanilla is the flavor that comes through...YMMV.

PS nougat is nougaty and their vanillas tend to have a good vanilla flavor. For chocolate. Bob's Chocolate Flake ROCKS!

I'll throw Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream. The cognac taste is totally in the smoke...

As Arthur said, Bob's Chocolate Flake (Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.) really does taste like chocolate with vanilla overtones. Also from Gawith, Hoggarth, Top Black Cherry tastes like black cherry.
Mac Baren's Vanilla Flake is one of the best vanillas.
When the Mac Baren 7 Seas Red comes out in October, it tastes like wild cherry.

SWR Aromatic is very accurate. Tin/pouch Description: "A unique blend of aged tobaccos moistened with imported French and Dutch liqueurs for a rich aroma and a mellow, comfortable smoke". The liqueurs are right there when I poke my nose into the pouch and they are right there when I light up. As it burns down, it turns into some sort of rich, holiday dessert fresh from the oven. It's a great smoke to blow out through the nose. A "comfortable" smoke, indeed.

Yeah I'd second the Mac Baren's Vanilla Cream at least the loose cut. It tastes to me pretty close to the tin smell of wonderful creamy vanilla.
CAO has one called Eileen's Dream that has Irish Cream and White Chocolate Truffles that tasted very close to the tin description. I refer to it as Baileys Irish Cream Liquor in tobacco form.

Most of the 7 Seas line carry over well into the taste. Also I've had the flake version of MacB's Vanilla Cream and to me it's a more intensified flavour than the loose cut. Peterson's Holiday Season 2011 also comes through well in the flavour.

I definately reccomend McBaren's Vanilla Creme. It was my very first pipe tobacco, and really does taste like its description without being too chemically or overpowering.

There are a lot of people who smoke Shortcut to Mushrooms and swear that they taste mushrooms. Personally, I am not one of those people. However, when I smoked Middletons Apple, I am one of those people that swears they taste apple. 7 Seas Royal has a rum casing, and I think that rum translates into the smoke really well. Vanilla Custard by Altadis also has a great vanilla flavor as well, and I swear I can almost taste a little butter in there too.

Peter Stokkebye's Cinnamon delivers a true cinnamon flavor, particularly at the start of the bowl. Stanwell Melange tastes very much like its smell advertises.

Markw4mms, how do you get that grey coloured bar prior to quoting someones statement?

So glad to hear this abour Bagpipers Dream, I have a few tins I haven't opened and I was really hoping the cognac stood out.
On the subject matter, Boswells Chocolate Cream to me, taste just like that. It does bite a bit if smoked quickly because of the casing I believe, however, it does taste like the description.
Also, MacBaren Vanilla Cream Flake also taste like sweet Vanilla, my opinion.

Smokenscotch,
The /quote goes at the end of the thing you're quoting. Delete the / in the beggining and put it at the end.
Sounds like I have to try this MacBaren's Vanilla stuff... Yum.
