What tobaccos do you folks reserve for smaller sized pipes?

This could be due to nicotine content or what taste best in smaller Dia. bowls.

I have been smoking GH Brown Twist Sliced in the smaller ones.

How about You?

I smoke everything in mine. I have a Kaywoodie Colt nosewarmer, and it's always in my corduroy blazer pocket as a backup for whatever pipe/tobacco that I happen to bring along.

As I have moved progressively to smaller bowl sizes I smoke more Virginias and Orientals. Usually Escudo and Dunhill Navy Rolls and the like. Slower smoking enjoying the nuances and easily an hour or more smoke.

Pretty much anything ready-rubbed for me; although, for stronger blends I will limit the bowl size. Nightcap is a good example, as I only smoke it after a large dinner (not great with vitamin N heavy blends on an empty stomach) which works well in the evening for a short walk.

Mostly flake or crumble cake like Bob's chocolate or G.L.Pease Quiet Nights for short time smoking.

But not regularly.

In my time, I have been known to smoke most anything inside of most anything.
That said, I seem to prefer flakes in the smaller, shallower bowled apple shapes anymore and the more traditional cut tobaccos in the bigger, deeper bowled bents. This is just a preference, certainly not a rule of thumb for all.

Smaller .... like Group 2 or 3 smaller, or "a child can barely stick a finger in the chamber" smaller ? I find a 0.75" diameter 1.5" depth chamber to be ideal for any and all tobacco blends, even aromatics, although I prefer my Lat blends in something shallower and wider; since I smoke mainly VA and VA-based flakes, the majority of my pipes have chambers close to the "ideal" range. Tiny chambers for ropes, but it's such an occasional treat for me that I usually half-load one of the regulars if smoking rope.

I have 2 matching medico varsity volcanos that are my edc pipes. They are much smaller then my other pipes and they smoke McClelland Red Cake beautifully.

I will smoke my stronger blends or flakes I will fold and stuff in the smaller pipe because for me when I do that instead of rub it out the smoke will last longer then rubbing it out.

I haven't come across anything that suffered for being smoked in a small bowled pipe, although I've not tried aromatics.

I have found that I enjoy aros in a large pipe. It really allows for the flavors to expend as your smoking.

I have two separate approaches to pipes with small chambers.
My trusty King's Cross Featherweight 110A Blast gets anything and everything and smokes it all like a true Champ.
I use my KC Feather either to try new blends or when I only have time for a quick smoke.
I use my Peterson 80s for flakes only as using a bigger pipe for flakes would be pointless.
When it comes to straight Va's or VaPers I do prefer a medium to large billard because I find they burn too hot in a small chamber.
