Hi guys, I have an order of a few different tobaccos coming soon but my supply of jars to store it in is rather lacking. Would it be alright to store all the different blends in the same jar in separate zip-lock bags or should I really invest in more jars?

+1. Also, after not all that long, you can smell a blend THROUGH the plastic itself. Definitely more jars.

Do not succumb to the temptation to use a questionable expedient like Ziploc bags -- or other plastic containers, for that matter.

They may be excellent short and medium term moisture barriers, but some organic volatiles, that make tobacco worth smoking,

can pass right through many different types of plastics. Glass A Mason jar is cheap, re-useable, and 100% safe.

Ziplocs are acceptable for short-term storage (a week or so) or shipping, but as noted above, they're not airtight. If you're not going to smoke what's in the bag pretty much immediately, get some more jars.

nice I was going to ask the same question but I am wondering, is it possible to store tobacco in coffee cans?

because I noticed that coffee cans preserve the flavor and the smell of the coffee, so I thought it would do the same job for tobacco.

Sorry but I just can't get my head wrapped around why anyone would spend so much money on pipe tobacco then hesitate about spending $8 -- 67 cents per jar -- on a case of Ball screw top canning jars that will safely store two and up to three pounds of pipe tobacco for many years.
What am I missing here?

You're missing the fact that they cost for $10-$15 each here :)

I haven't looked into the canning jars. I just manned up and bought half a dozen of the clip top glass jars. And not disagreeing with you about protecting it properly at all.

I use the canning jars. Works great and cheap too. I use the 4 ounce jars for my smaller purchases.
