It's so hot outside right now (105+ heat index) that it's almost more than I can take to light up a bowl -- even after the sun goes down. Is there a tobacco you like when it's this hot?

Though I have an affinity for Virginia/Oriental blends, I actually like all genres regardless of climate. For me it's more of a mood thing.

Sun hung high in the sky, pushing 105F and 99% humidity, sweat falling off of me in sheets... I reach for Newmister Superior Navy Flakes, honey sweet golden Virginias. Sweet, makes me salivate to keep my mouth wet in the heat. Slightly acidic, citrusy, notes of summer.

Well...in Texas here, I have been smoking burleys, english, and VaPers....and it's been scorching hot here as well. Smoke what you like and what you can stomach in the heat.

Hmmmm...As a Southerner, heat and humidity is no big deal. After April arrives, they are a way of life. When it's pipe time, I stride purposefully into my tobacco vault and lovingly admire my inventory, carefully straightening the more or less orderly arrangement. After musing for a bit over the pleasures of future pipes, I inspect my working rotation. Something always jumps out at me as the tobacco of the moment and I go from there. If it strikes my fancy, I will happily smoke any type of blend any time of year. Piping is a pleasure and, as with most pleasures, shouldn't be over thought. Just my view from the west pasture. :D
Cheers,
Chili
