A phrase that has come into common use here in the UK over the last few years is "rip off Britain". We seem to have to pay more than Europe and USA for Tobacco, electrical goods, cars, food, books, video games - the list goes on. If an item is priced at, say $15 in USA we almost almost pay at least £15 despite the difference in exchange rate. People now pay for a return flight from London to New York for a long weekend shopping trip as they can save more than the air fare in cloths shopping. **sorry rant over**
No wonder the relaxing pass time of pipe smoking is growing in popularity here! :)

It is pretty hopeless really isn't it?

I keep feeling awful when a good friend in the States asks me to get him 250 grms of Mick McQuaid and FVF about every 6 months or so. He has been kindness itself and has sent me Pounds of Tobacco in exchange, but thankfully he understands that his sending me 6lbs of tobacco (I kid you not) would bankrupt me if I replaced like with like.
Hopeless state as I say and no doubt only to get worse when we hear the next Budget. :(

:crying: I like to smoke several Peterson blends and just noticed on a USA website that the price in Dollars is LESS than they cost in Pounds. So, even if £1=$1, (actually today £1 = $1.61) it would be cheaper to buy a UK blend that has been shipped to America!!! That is insane!!! I might have to enter the green-card lottery next year.
America is often called "The Land of the Free" it also seems to be "The Land of the Reasonably Priced" too! :)

None of my business -- and I'm not trying to come across like I'm telling you what to do -- but those subjects are typically better suited for Private Messages. You never know who is reading..
