So I customarily smoke a bowl on the drive home in the truck.... been doing it for years, well yesterday evening on the way home Im enjoying a nice bowl while listening to one of my favorite podcasts and in general relaxing and somewhat contemplating the events of the day... well seeing that I'm in Southern California its hot as shit and so I drive with the windows all the way open.
Now, just so everyone understands, I usually keep my tobacco's in ziplock sandwich or snack bags and keep those in my leather pipe bag... I generally will place in the bag quite a bit so that it continues to dry a bit as the days go by... well I had just filled it with a half tin of C&D Buffalo Soldier in the morning and figure that would last me about a week (I usually carry about two different tobaccos all the time) well on the way home I lay the baggy on the passenger seat instead of placing it back in the bag.
OK back to the main part of the story... there I am driving along in about 30mph traffic puffing away relaxing and what not when a sudden gust of wind blows through the windows, I swear this was in slow motion, I watch my baggy of half a tin of tobacco float up in the air turn and look at me and wave goodbye and just like that it literally flies out of the window... I sat there, for what seemed an eternity just like 8O ... I pick up my gaze into the side mirror, praying to the tobacco gods that it floats to the side of the road and I can then go back and pick it up... but NOPE... I watch my baggy fly over a car and land directly under the car next to its tires ... car after car running over it ... damn, DAMN DAMN DAMN! ... needless to say, I was a bit bummed at first but then I actually burst out laughing at the absurdity of what had just happened.
Moral of the story, boys and girls... keep your tobacco safe and keep it to smoke another day. OR Let your tobacco fly away and if it comes back.... (damn... my tobacco didn't love me!)
