I am new here. I have been smoking (cheap) pipes on and off since 2006. Over the past month I have taken to it a lot. After some research I bought a Peterson pipe at my local shop and got my first estate pipe, via eBay, the other day. I went and did the Oxiclean and magic eraser stem cleaning but when I ran my first pipe cleaner through the stem the white directional plug melted out along with it. I did leave the stem in for just over an hour but now I am wondering where to find another plug. Any recommendations?

Its a Peterson pipe. I am sorry I dont have any photos as of right now. on the left side of the stem there is a small white dot. looks like it was plastic, and it melted.

Strange. I am having trouble picturing exactly what you're trying to describe. Photos should help, but I don't recall see a Peterson with a white dot (a white capital "P", but not a dot).
Also, I've used oxiclean for hours on various stems. On an old kiko meer, the white elephant logo was wiped away. My Dunhill's white dot however survived fine. The kiko was just paint, the Dunhill's white dot is (I believe) actually embedded white plastic.
So if your Pete had a painted dot, perhaps you will need to re-paint by hand.

well the pict would not work.
I wish it was just paint, this is a plug, I now have two holes in my stem. I was thinking about some epoxy and a dab of white paint but I dont know how the epoxy would effect the stem or the taste. I guess I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they solved it.

I never saw a Pete with a white plug in the side - hope you can upload a pic. I think your epoxy idea would not alter the taste so long as it's had a chance to fully cure. Look for a non-toxic, high heat epoxy. Some here will prolly have some recommendations.
You may wish to mix in a little black paint instead of white so it's more invisible - I doubt using epoxy and white paint will look quite as nice as the original. Good luck, hope you'll keep us posted.
