Hi Guys, so I am expecting my Savinelli 3613 dry system to arrive any day now, my current briar has a filter which I currently use. My question is can one smoke the Savinelli without a filter?

I get better draw and better taste without the filter (my bent pipe which comes with the charcoal filter) ...and My new savinelli 311ks just reach me today too , i haven't smoke it with the filter or adapter yet ...i jz remove the filter and smoke it on the spot...its excellent...not sure hw it feels with the adapter...

To focus in just on whether to use the adaptor or just go without it, try it both ways, and see if you prefer the open draw of no adaptor or the slightly more focused draw of the adaptor. You can go back to the balsa filter in an instant if you want, but I prefer the adaptor. I think you might encounter a few pipes where the airway has more turbulence in the airway without the adaptor, which might cause moisture and/or noise, but mostly I think it is strictly preference. Many Forums members state they smoke both 6 mm and 9 mm filter pipes without the filters and are perfectly happy with them, and no adaptor. Just see which you like.

I find the filters to get quite smelly, and they also make it impossible to pass a cleaner through while smoking. So I'd say without, or with an adapter

6mm I choose to smoke it without the filter or the adapter. 9mm I prefer the adapter and use the basla filters when I want to smoke a tobacco that tends to irritate my mouth.
