I understand there is a box pass happening amongst the American members and for obvious and understandable reasons it does not include Canada. for it would be a shame to have customs hold on to that box of treasures.
That being said, i was wondering if there was an interest in starting a Box pass in Canada?
I also understand me being a fairly new member would discourage some from participating. This is why i would be honored to start it off myself to eliminate any uncertainty.
What i hope to accomplish is an ever traveling box of goodies that all us Canadian members can enjoy and part take in. to take and give. this is why i don't mind starting it knowing that eventually it will return to me with different tobaccos to try and then be sent out once again.
This post is just to confirm if there is even any interest in this and if we find this is really desired i will start an official thread, being im not breaking any forum rules by doing this which if i am please point it out to me.
Best Regards,
Andrew(smokeybear)

There is, and it is! Just about finished round 2, and I suspect round 3 won't be long. Check the other thread for details!

Looks like round 3 of the box pass is being planned. There was quite a lot in the box pass when I got it, so it is alive and well in Canada.
I'm not in Canada if I am the idiot here, bur doesn't each Province in Canada have different rules, laws and taxes? I thought I read somewhere that shipping between Provinces is more highly controlled by some. Or am I all wet and shipping tobacco from one Province to another, i.e., from anywhere to anywhere is a non-problem?
The sale of tobacco & tobacco products? is regulated provincially in Canada. I live in Alberta, but I cannot purchase tobacco from British Columbia or Ontario or any other province as each province has their own taxe rate that is applied at the time of sale. I am guessing that it is just too difficult with the various rates and how much each province would take from my near empty wallet. Judging by what I was charged by Canadian Border Services on my last tobacco US shipment, the Alberta rate is especially brutal.......but still worth it.
So, although the "sale" of tobacco is highly regulated interprovincially in Canada, I know of no rule that prohibits friends froom sharing their tobacco interprovincially. I can send some tobacco samples to any province in Canada as long as I am not selling or making a profit from the endeavour. That is my thinking on interprovincial tobacco sales and I think I pretty much have it, but if I have made a mistake or missed something, please feel free to correct me.

You're right, some provinces like Saskatchewan are a bit anal about tobacco shipping, I'm not sure if its limited to purchasing tobacco from a vender and getting it shipped or not. Either way, as long as the package didn't specify the contents i'm sure you'd be fine, but that might be illegal.
