Not really a pipe event, but...

My good friend is holding his record release show at Healing Force Of The Universe, a record store in the heart of Pasadena. I've known him for over 20 years, played in two different bands together during my time as a derelict musician, and when he asked me to come off of my mountain cabin (and out of retirement!) to play in the lineup, I of course obliged him. Like Walter Sobchak, I don't roll on Shabbos, but playing a few D-minor chords hardly constitutes work.

Anyway, the show is from 8-11pm on Friday, July 18. Should be a whole lot of fun, and I imagine there'd be at least a little bit of time afterward to unwind with a pipe. Should any of you LA folk wish to stop by, it'd be just grand to share that pipe with the lot of you.
