Living as if in the past. A BBC documentary. No pipe smoking, but look for the quick shot of a Squadron Leader tin.

Although this is barely relevant to the thread, the phrase "Time Warp", reminded me of a situation I found myself in TWICE, in the last month or so. I had been driving along one of my city's streets, puffing away as usual, minding my own business, when there suddenly appeared a man riding upon a very tall bicycle! You know, one of those relics from the past, with the large front tire, and smaller rear tire? Anyhoo, the guy riding upon said antique was dressed exactly as you would imagine a man who rides upon one of those things would dress! Curley mustaché and all! And, I saw him a second time just recently!
It was strange. I felt like I was driving through a wormhole or something. Or had he been traveling through a wormhole? 8O

Reminds me of my Grandmothers house when she was alive. The only thing missing I did not see what a bowl of hard candies that had been sitting out for ages!

Fun. If you want to ride a time machine, try riding AmTrak passenger trains. The rails seem to run through the oldest, least re-developed part of every city and town, so you mostly see buildings from the 1950's back to the 1800's. When you see neighborhoods built in the 1960's, by contrast, they look like Tomorrow Land. Plus you're riding in a somewhat historical mode of transportation to complete the effect, although the dining car isn't what it used to be. Before 1970 or so, the dining car was like a fine restaurant with cuisine and linen table clothes and napkins. It was living high.

The "Goodwood Revival of Speed" has been on my bucket list for years. To enter the paddock, you must wear only vintage clothing. They originally thought this premise would turn spectators away, but it has been increasingly popular.
