Tim McCarver - another good one lost.

Noticed the news of his passing on the “crawl” during a basketball game last night.

Always enjoyed him.

I recall some good stories about his Keokuk minor league beginnings that involved a particular umpire - Brent Musburger! Couple of guys starting out at the same time, went far in their professions.

I was a McCarver fan from the days he caught Bob Gibson (my all time favorite pitcher) to his retirement from broadcasting the World Series. He had a full life, and did everything he ever wanted to do. You can't ask for more than that.
