I don't know about you but I hate having to get up and move about looking for a pipe or tobacco when I am working on a project. Accordingly I tend to fill up three pipes in one go so that I don't have to worry myself with any issues like choosing a tobacco, what pipe to smoke, I simply put the pipe in my mouth, light up and carry on. This is in my opinion the perfect solution to the three pipe problem!thumbnail-2.jpeg

I rather enjoy the bit of prep I have to do. Whether it’s rubbing it out, shredding it, cubing it, or simply stuffing it…it’s a process I enjoy. I only really get to relax & enjoy a pipe on my days off. Those days usually mean I’m doing household chores or prepping dinner for when the brood comes ?. The in-between times are mine & I’m rarely disturbed enough not be able to bother to load my pipe. You must be a very busy fella Simon. ☕
BTW, lovely Meers there. ?

“ But I must be prompt over this matter.”

“What are you going to do, then?” I asked.

“To smoke,” he answered. “It is quite a three pipe problem, and I beg that you won’t speak to me for fifty minutes.” He curled himself up in his chair, with his thin knees drawn up to his hawk-like nose, and there he sat with his eyes closed and his black clay pipe thrusting out like the bill of some strange bird. I had come to the conclusion that he had dropped asleep, and indeed was nodding myself, when he suddenly sprang out of his chair with the gesture of a man who has made up his mind and put his pipe down upon the mantelpiece.”

closest I get is packing a pipe a few hours before hand if it's a seven seas blend or other aro that needs some more drying time. Or before I head out the door and get on the bus. But it's only one at a time. Then again with how dry I like tobacco leaving it out too long is a recipe for mummy dust which isn't as bad as people say it is, but it's a step down from almost crunchy.

I usually only pack one or two pipes at a time, but I will sometimes select three or four pipes in advance and then select the blend as the need arises. I tend to be slightly hyperactive, so getting up and down a few times is more of a release than an effort. Border collie syndrome.
