June and I have gotten used to, and spoiled on premium coffee's for the last few years. We order from Gevalia,

I know, I know.... one of the worst 'spam mail' distributors out there. But I try to ignore that as they really

do have some good coffee's. She likes their French Vanilla and I lean toward the straight Arabica bean blends

with no flavorings. "Antigua" is my favorite. Anyway, about eight months ago I was looking for a jar to put-up

an 8oz box of Samuel Gawith's Navy Flake. I have never blended or flavored any tobacco's, and never really

thought about it.

I used a ball jar that still had a bit of Antigua in the bottom, dumped my flake in and sealed the jar. This

morning I got a hand full, rubbed it out on a napkin to let it dry for a while. Stuffed a pipe and WaLaaa!

I swear it's the nicest thing I've tried in a while..... I know it sounds crazy but it's good stuff!

That's awesome TopD. Some of the world's best inventions were happy accidents. Now the next problem you are going to have is do you brew the next batch coffee you order or store it with the baccy.

The more I think about this, the more I think you may be starting a new trend. Was any of the coffee actually included in the your smoke or do you think it was just a transfer of flavors?

About eight months. It was around the middle of April when I jarred the flake I think, and there was about

a shot glass of coffee left in the jar. Why did I leave the coffee? I had the box of tobacco open and

June was out the door... ready for supper. (We don't go out much, but I wasn't going to leave the tobacco

setting on the cutting board table, so in it went).

I've still got some PA jarred with whole cloves that have been marrying for several months now.
It is the same principle. I'm sure that it will work along the same lines.
I've also seen recent confirmation of a similar experiment on another forum.
SG Navy Flake is pretty bland, IMO, so I'd say the coffee has done it a few favours.

@eaglerico... Just the taste so far, the Coffee is still in the bottom of the jar. I'm not to sure about

actual coffee grinds in my pipe but you never know.....

I think ACID cigars does roughly the same thing with their "infused" cigars... Essential oils, herbs, and other things are placed in a room to flavor the leaves, so maybe you could start a line of "Top's Choice" with your favorite coffees.. :puffy:

I know I am new to the game but i am a big fan of McClelland 5100 and decided to put the rind from a clementine in a pint jar of 5100. I only left it in for 12 hours figuring the tobacco would suck alot of moisture from the rind. I waited a week to try it and let it air dry on a plate before packing it. It had a noticeable note of orange in the aroma and in the smoke. Did the same with a spicy mandarin Chai tea bag and some 5100 and again the tobacco took on a spiciness to it. Looking forward to trying the coffee route thanks for the idea TopD.
