This is really unfortunate. This is the third tin of my favorite tobacco that has been riddled with mold. I first discovered this issue back in the Fall and was noticed by a good friend of mine who smokes a lot of RF as well. A batch in November (August production date) had a bad mold outbreak and was recalled. Gave it a few months and bought some more tins in January (December production date) hoping the issue had been resolved but to no avail; another moldy tin. Finally, now in April, I decided to try one more time to crack a tin with a February production date only to be met with a face full of fuzz. It’s really sad that this hasn’t been fixed as this is a fantastic tobacco. I guess I’ll wait a year or two before filling up my cellar with it again.

Did you reach out to the retailer and/or manufacturer?
Ive got a tin from 2019 in my cellar. I guess I need to pop it soon.

Yeah I did. He’s aware of it. I was thinking about reaching out to C&D since they’re the blenders (I’ve always supposed).
Yes, C&D is the blender. I’ve heard they’ve always made good on mold occurrences. I know that if you bought it from SP they would replace it directly. I’m not sure how it works with other retailers.
It's best to reach out to the manufacturer before posting here. I think that forum rules demand it. C&D will make good on it, and they want to know when something like this happens. Then you can report back here and tell us how C&D handled it. Otherwise, threads like this tend to spiral out of control.
