The question just popped into my mind while I was window shopping pipe on SmokingPipes.com and speaking with the awesome Kaz C Walters via email. The Comoy's Virgin Briar Bulldog (Leonard)(Pat Pending) Circa 1930's was just bought by someone while I was cradling it in the shopping cart hoping someone would buy it before I could ask it to be put on layaway.

FINE !! Back to reality.
Would you buy a pipe from a pipemaker you hate but love their pipes?
Cheers,

Chris :puffpipe:

Chris, I can see your temptation with that one. I was rather struck by it too when I saw it. Many's the time years back when I was quite relieved to find myself out-bid on a pipe on eBay.

Chris, I can't say I hate any pipe maker or brand, however, I will not buy a pipe from a carver who rubs me the wrong way. Personalities do clash, so for me, the relationship between a carver and buyer does make a difference. I only buy from carvers I like personally.

@irishearl I know the feel, I have not bought anything after my surgery in 2016, although I paid for the pending commitments and got a gift or two on Christmas. Still have a box each of pipes with Mr. Dibos and Mr. Farrah for restoration. Slowly making my way to get those 50 pipes or so restored and sell a few along the way.
@briarblues Hi Mike, its the same for me.
Cheers,

Chris
