As many of you know, I have had to switch from driving a 5-speed, to an automatic, due to medical reasons. I stumbled upon a dream steal a couple weeks ago, and I put my beloved 2001 Saturn SC1 up for sale. After driving this wonderful car for 8 years, today I had to say good bye, as it was driven out of my driveway, by it's proud new owner; a 17yr old lad. I know a Saturn, to some people, is a low class car, but it served me awsomely for 8yrs, with less than $3000.00 spent on repairs! In 33 yrs of driving, I must say, it has been my favorite, and will be truely missed.

Low class? Any car, truck, van that serves you well and does what it is supposed to do is not low class. Smoke a bowl and say a fond farewell. :puffy:

Ladies and Gentleman,

We are gathered here today to commemorate the passing of our auto-friend. Its wheels have been sturdy and weathered much. Its time with us has been and will be remembered. Though it’s been a long journey and some rough roads have been traversed, we wish you fond farewells to the gas pump in the sky. May the next remembrance be as honored as we have been honored to know you? Through mud and rain, wind and snow, we give thee a proper transverse to the next life time you live. May it be greeted with high octane and Quakerstate high mileage? We bid the fare well and goodspeed. Amen

Saturns were good cars, too bad GM stopped making them. I do feel your pain, as a good car does tend to become like an old friend.

I drive an 02 Nissan "Desert Runner". 5 speed, 6 cylinder, 2WD.
Other than normal weathering on the paint and such, it is in excellent condition. Have had the timing belt replaced at about 150K miles, and that is it, other than little here and there things.
I am pretty sure that if, and when, the engine goes or the tranny, I am just going to have that item replaced and go from there.
