It looks like by the end of summer that Elizabethan Mixture will be back on the shelves.
I wonder if in the future we'll see any more of the discontinued Dunhill blends return?
This news comes via Glynn Quelch of Gauntley's in the UK

and he received a sample prototype tin he reviews in the video, he states it was made by K&K,

but apparently it's actually Orlik who still make it, unless something has changed since Feb,

http://www.kohlhase-tobacco.com/site/index.php?id=460

a German reader wrote directly to K&K and the response was that they are only the exclusive distributor

(some confusion is caused b/c they list the range of Dunhills on their site), I found this here on PM

at http://pipesmagazine.com/blog/radio-talk-show/the-pipes-magazine-radio-show-episode-20/

in the comment stream...
...anyway, I don't know anything about Dunhill tobacco as I've never smoked any,

just thought I'd pass this along as I reckon some folks may be happy to hear about it...

As the kids would say... SRSLY? You MUST try Dunhill My Mixure 965 (I'm pretty sure it's a law, actually). Early Morning Pipe is another must-try (I have an open tin and happy to send you a sample -- just PM your address).

Yes, I will obey the law!
I forgot though, I did "try" London Mixture back when I first started

because it has been writ that all true pipemen must enjoy English Blends

but the aroma of Latakia horrified me and I never actually smoked it!

I gave the tin away!

But now I have come to love the stuff and I'm currently sampling my way

to a nice Latakia rotation --- is 965 overly spicy? Or more campfire?
Oh wow!

Thank you for the kindness!

PM will be sent!

 :puffy: :puffy:

EMP sounds good Roth, I'll put that on the list.
I'm going to try GLP Abingdon also, and SG Commonwealth.
I've been wary of jumping into heavy Balkans because it seems orientals/turkish are usually described as acrid/bitter, but then again, many of the tobacco reviews I've read online have been greatly misleading!
Oddly, after I acquired the taste for Latakia, which was a "homebrew" via a trade with a Brit, that I reluctantly tried despite the camphor smell which disagrees with me, I ended up getting Sillem's London, I dunno if that's considered a Lat bomb or not, but I was surprised at how spicy it was, it also created a lot of smoke which I enjoyed, but for some reason it has a "thin" body despite having bits of Burley in it, I mixed some Va in with it and it transformed into a great smoke!

Yep, one of the ironies with many tobacco reviews is that a heavy Lat mix is often described as "strong" but they're talking about flavor --- it seems "strong flavor" gets confused with actual strength???

Durbar, anyone?
Oh, heavens, yes. That's the only Dunhill lat blend I really enjoyed. I think I tried Elizabethan, long ago and far away, before I kept a tobacco log of any sort.

I think it'd be great if they brought back the actual My Mixture custom blending service!
I mean, it may be a massive headache with many problems, but STG/Orlik already bought out Poul Olsen's My Own Blend and MOB offers this custom blending with only a 5 tin minimum, which is very cool!!!

I had a professor in boarding school who swore by Elizabethan Mixture. I would love to try it!

Roth, the shipping weight is 225 grams. The tobacco is only 100 grams. I put together a hypothetical shopping basket

with two tins, and the total, with shipping, came to $70 USD -- payable by VISA. Way too expensive for my blood.

I'm hoping this is not just a rumor!! I haven't looked at the video as yet. If it is indeed true, I am going to start smoking my older Murray's made Dunhill Elizabethan blend that I have cellared. It would be great to see some of the discontinued blends back on the retailers shelves for sure. Aperitif anyone?

Ah, yes-- Aperitif. One that I've missed a lot, and would be delighted to welcome back.
Elizabethan Mixture is an old favorite; I think it was the first Dunhill tobacco I ever bought, close to 40 years ago. I'll be happy to have that available again, for sure.

Aperitif, Elizabethan Mixture, Durbar are three extremely wonderful Dunhill blends. I sincerely hope they will come back!

Does smoking it require shoulder ruffles and a codpiece?
For serial...It looks tempting, always a fan of the velvety smokes.

Looks like a good start. I heard several months back about them resurrecting Elizabethan and Durbar, guess t wasn't a rumor.

I have kept my empty Murray's tin and look forward to refilling it with the new Lizzie. An all time classic Vaper.
