I was in an antique store today and ran across a nice pipe that I wasn't sure if it was briar or not. It almost looked like the whole pipe was made of the same material the bit was. It had no grain and the color was black all over. It had the marking on the side "the pipe". Does anyone know what kind of pipe this is. I'd like to buy it but I'm not sure until I learn if it's briar or not.

Made by Venturi in the 70s they're made from synthetic materials and get mixed reviews. I've heard they smoke very hot. They're interesting looking though, I've considered picking one up just to say I have one.
