I've been working on this thing for a while now and finally got it dependable, of sorts.
It's a Chiinese made 250 water cooled scooter. Runs good and will cruise dandy at 65mph and it is pretty comfortable to ride. Fuel mileage is lots better than the truck and it handles great on the curvy country roads around here.
I've now put a couple hundred miles on it and it's started every time and not left me setting "Yet"
One day, I'd like to have something better made, maybe even a bigger scooter, but until then, this $800 scooter fits the bill.
I also took it for a ride yesterday, put about 50 miles on it and rode to the river for a swim and sat and had a couple pipes of Bohemian Scandal..... What an enjoyable great tasting smoke.

You need to water and fertilize it so it can grow up.... :D
Just kidding of course... any "motorcycle" is cool in my eyes...

Nice! My brother Bob and his father-in-law have scooters and love them. I rode on the back of Bob's and it was ridiculous amounts of fun. :D
Baskerville - there's one at our local pawnshop for $800 if you want to stop by. ;)

I'm not in the mountains, but have 3 spring fed rivers within an hour or so of the house. Two are stocked with trout regularly. So this thing will be great once I get the mount on it for holding my flyrod. Under seat storage will hold a complete change of clothes, including shoes and my two pipe pouch and tobacco. So it's great for day trips and will run 70mph if pushed and cruise the hilly and curvy roads here at 55-60 all day long and get between 60-70 miles to the gallon. (Just checked it and got 61mpg.)
I'm enjoying it and look for a reason to hop on and go for a ride...... :) Wish I could talk my wife into riding one, but she doesn't even like me having one..... Oh well, I do. LOL

Yep, I wear my helmet and have found as you say. Gravel roads are the worst and I have 2 miles of it either way to get to the pavement. Those wide little tires are not real good on gravel but stick like glue on pavement.
I'm enjoying the ride and after checking I found that I'm actually getting closer too 70mpg than 60. That is an added bonus.
Now I just need to figure out how to get my flyrod case mounted on the bike so I can use it for trout fishing excursions.
