I am watching a film called The Lost World, based on a Conan Doyle novel about some professors who find dinosaurs. Does anyone know more about the pipe that Bob Hoskins, as Professor Challenger, is smoking? I have never seen anything like it. Huge, made of wood or reed with a thin shank attached 2/3 the way up the bowl. The story was set in 1911. Could it have been a type of pipe that was popular at that time?
