This movie was on TMC last night. I wasn’t really paying it much attention, background noise mostly. A particular scene caught my attention though.

There was a lot of pipe smoking going on, certainly in line with 1935 England. A particular scene featured three military men.

One man pulls out his pipe and the other says to try his tobacco. It’s his “own mixture from the tobacconist on Jermyn Street”.

The younger man smells the jar and says it has a lot of perique and may be too strong for him.

The other man smells it and agrees but he packs a bowl anyway.

I watched the scene a couple times.
Anyone else seen this one?

Missed that one last night. I'll have to search for the next airing date. I love old movies.

Jermyn Street? Isn't that where Alfred opened his first shop? Jermyn Street sounds so familiar.

Astleys for sure. Others too most likely.
Unless there’s a basketball or football game on that I want to watch, my tv pretty much stays on TMC.
