dude I really recommend getting a doctor to look at that. I don't think they'll be able to help but even doctors need good work stories to share. "Yeah you should see this guys hand that came into my exam room." I think he might have been smoking a pipe too but I am really not sure.

We have Blackbeard's ship sunk in the shallows at the North Carolina coast. He was apparently a poor public relations man since many of the early English sea captains who were later knighted, like Hawkins and Drake, made their fortunes by piracy before founding the Royal Navy. Blackbeard just lacked those social skills, I guess. If you couldn't butter up the monarch in those days you just ended up beheaded, or you ended up beheaded anyway like Walter Raleigh.
@anotherbob Good point. Most things sound reasonable to me. Although I once had a client that wanted to make diapers and tampons out of some kind of wood fiber. He was planning to sell the tampons under the slogan 'Put some wood in your woman' and even I thought that was a step too far! He actually developed a process for making paper out of banana leaf fiber. Total disaster but a really nice fellow.
