I was thinking the other day of some of the great places I've been. Probably the most awe inspiring was the Bay of Pinnicles, Alaska (out of Sitka).

My stepdad, older brother, and myself had a week of great fishing, drinking expensive booze, and eating food created by a wonderful chef. There was one major problem. I forgot to pack my pipe.

Wow. Those are awesome pics. When I was traveling the world I wasn't into pipe smoking yet so I would have to say every where as I would love to go everywhere I have been again. Singapore, Abu Dhabi the two highest on the list.

That looks like an amazing vacation, great photos - but forgetting your pipe! Can't imagine it. :crying:

Number six. Fabulous photos and the fish! Wow! You must have had a great time. Be Seeing you is also great. Left that pipe did you. NEVER AGAIN I'd bet!

Very nice!
So far, the only times I've thought to myself "I should have brought a pipe!" have been at a local coffeeshop (not Starbucks...) that has a couple of outside tables for smokers, and at the Ren Faire, which I'd never realized counted as "outdoor space" until I started noticing individual booths (mostly food and clothing retailers) posted as "no smoking please".

Now when I pack, the pipe goes in first.
That was one day's catch. We each brought home 50 lbs of halibut and salmon. It's almost gone now, so I need to think of another trip in the near future.
I'm the one in the middle, just 5 years older with a little bit more grey and need reading glasses to see a menu.

That looks like a great time.

I have a friends brother up in Homer AK that has a charter fishing business. Gotta make it up there soon.

With my pipes of course

That's what some of those cobs and machine pipes are for; tuck 'em in your suitcase and jacket pockets,

so they come along with you, whether you've packed your other pipes or not. A few strategically placed

OTC pouches in similar stashes won't do any harm. I have a nice leather pipe case, but I also have an old

nylon dop kit with the basics. You forgot your pipe so you wouldn't become confused and believe you'd

died and gone to heaven. Oh, pipe nails and matches, tuck a few of them in your jacket pockets, suitcases,

etc. Always good to have, or discover, a pipe on your person or in your luggage.
