Ok, I found what I was looking for in the thread I posted here where everyone that it was a question about a gun.

On one of the MTV videos of 38 Special from the 80s, it gets to the end of the song where the lead guitar takes us out to the end. It's a live concert video, and just as he is about to jam into the leads, the E string breaks ... and this is one of the main strings he needs to play the leads.
It doesn't phase him in the least. He grabs the broken string and quickly wraps it around the upper neck of the guitar to get it out of the way and then flawlessly transposes the leads to the other strings.
The song is "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys".
The video I found is pretty poor quality.
At the 3:18 mark, watch closely.
When it was on TV you could see the string break. You can't see it break in this poor quality video, but you can see him grab it real quick and wrap it around the head to get it out of the way, while he just plays on.
Oh, and the background singers ain't bad either.

Hey I have done that, but while playing bass guitar. Let me tell when an E-strings snaps on a bass guitar watch out.
