I bought this straight grain, hand made briar pipe on eBay for $25 delivered. It was listed as Hand B Made, but I think the B inside a Diamond and the Diamond logo on the stem identify it as a Briarcraft.

That’s a pretty little hand made, straight grain, likely Algerian briar pipe for twenty five bucks, whoever made it, if you ask me.

If that exact same pipe was hand made in a London shop with a British logo it would be worth at least ten times more.

And when I wake up to sleep no more, maybe my kids will correctly list it as a Briarcraft. That ought to jump the resale value to thirty bucks.:)

It pays to check Pipedia, you know?

I've started keeping pipe memoirs for my kids to inherit with my pipes. They include any background I've been able to dig up on my pipes (for instance, a forum member here recently helped me identify my Bewlay branded pipe as a Charatan).

Regardless of make, that's a nice looking billiard with slightly oval shank and gorgeous grain.
