So I returned to the shop where I found some lovely Danish style pipes a couple months ago and … I’ll be dipped if they didn’t have more!

Probably the same estate collection because they’re the same style, age and makers. Got another Ericksen, another JHW and another WO Larsen.

Oh yeah, they had Christmas Cheer at a tolerable price so I bought five tins of that too.

My wife surprised me by getting a Peterson pewter (?) Sherlock Holmes tamper as a gift for me too!

It was a great visit!

I didn’t really think I was a Danish pipe style kind of guy but I’m really excited about these pipes lately. They all smoke fantastically and are well crafted from lovely briar with unique shapes.

I’d like to think the previous owner would be glad many of them found a home together and are being well looked after but I don’t suppose he’s around to care (or even if he was around he was obviously done with them).

It is rather strange to have the sense you are buying someone’s collection though.

Love that twist stem
It would take some skill to execute it well
It’s really well done. This maker did cool stuff and the stem work is excellent. The wood dot inserts are even placed on the ridge of the diamond stems! Crazy challenge I’d think to get that right. I’m impressed with his work. Apparently he only made pipes for a few years before suffering a major stroke or heart attack and giving it up permanently. Quite an artisan IMO.
