Maybe it's the few Coors I've had so far or maybe this leaf I'm smoking tonight (not the Mary j. Uana either), but I'm feeling pretty thankful right now. I know tomorrow I'll be celebrating my countries Independence Day, but sometimes I just feel like I could be celebrating Thanksgiving. I have a good job. It's never perfect, but hell, who's is? I've got my own house...well, technically the bank owns it, I'm just paying them to stay here. I've got a wife that would do anything for me and loves me for who and what I am, even when I'm being dumb and stubborn. I've got food on my table every morning and night and I've got a fridge full of ice cold Coors and a MM Cobbler full of a fantastic leaf. I didn't even stand there to pick, I just twirled my finger in the air and let it land on a bag. Couldn't tell you what I picked, I just know it's good. Sometimes we really don't realize just how good we've got it. You should always stop and thank someone for all you've got, because you'd never want have to say that you didn't know what you had, until it was gone. Be thankful today for what you've got, cause tomorrow it could be gone.

Got a Corona with a lime wedge, and the wife is wearing her tight jeans. The simple things, though often overlooked, are what makes life grand.

Thank God there are other people out there that don't overlook the simple things. I have a nice glass of ice cold vodka and a pipe full of ... let's just say it rymes with crack spigot. Live is Good!

And there is another one of the little things. Sharing laughs with like minded folk!

"crack spigot" ... "That explains SO much!" -- Next time maybe Anthony shouldn't leave that leaky bottle if cleaning fluid on top of the barrel.....

I'm guessing this thread would probably not be the best place for the airing of grievances.

...and I'm thankful all the Coors is at your house. Just kidding...it's not my brand of beer. It's good to be grateful on Independence Day and other days too. I like to remember family boasting about supposed illustrious historical ancestry, Colonel Prescott in the Revolution, Roger Williams way before the revolution, and others, but also I learned last night on a PBS World War One documentary that the Choctaw Indian Tribe were code talkers during World War One. They have ancestry here going back tens of thousands of years. My wife's dad was older when he and his wife had her, so he was a World War One vet who was gassed in the trenches but never lost his pluck, though he couldn't really do farming or so much physical work after that and spent a lot of time at Veterans Hospitals. My late wife's dad was in the Infantry at the Battle of Bulge, WWII, and my dad and his brother were in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII, Uncle Dick at Tarawa, the first big amphib landing by the U.S., heroic on-the-job-training.

I am still passing enough kidney stones to gravel the driveway, uggg! But, I am still hosting the family today. Burgers on the grill, watermellons rolled out of the garden, and explosives for the children. I am cracking open my oldest tin of Red Ribbon, and making cobbler from the peaches from my orchard. Have a good one, yall!!

Here
I was very thankful last night, too. Work ended early, the market had limes 25 for a buck and fresh blue crabs available.
I made Maryland style steamed crabs and fresh margaritas with the bottle of Herradura I'd been saving.
Today, there is a nice mid day rain, so the drunken mob with explosives is less likely to burn down the town.
Live IS good!
