Teipen Reverse Calabash Mad Hatter Cherrywood

I asked Wayne Teipen to make me one of his Mad Hatter Cherrywoods. He sent me pictures just a few minutes ago - he tells me this is the first time he has ever done one of his Mad Hatter pipes in a reverse calabash format. I love the look of it.

Love the hourglass lines on the cherrywood shape. Just fantastic lines. The blast really works too... whimsical and fun looking pipe Peck. Congrats!

I can't wait to smoke it either. I am heading out on vacation shortly, though, so that will have to be in a couple of weeks. I am sure it won't be the last Teipen I own.

In any event, I long ago realized that people will often disagree with me and I made a promise to myself never to hold it against them when they come back later and tell me that I was, of course, right.

I think that is probably the only reverse calabash I've seen that has a shape I like.

That is a unique spin on the reverse calabash design. A little too out there for my tastes, but execution looks first rate and I'll be surprised if you don't report it is an excellent smoker. Do give a report after those first few bowls. Today is Cherrywood day at Pecks!

peck, it is not my style but it is a very cool looking pipe. I have never seen anything quite like it, very original and I love the smooth rim on it. I hope it smokes great for you.

peck, I am serious, I do like the looks. I am pretty boring when it comes to the shapes of pipes that I like, but can appreciate the artistry of pipes like that. Maybe one day I will branch out into more less traditional shapes.
